I am not Irish. Does that excuse the fact that I am the only person on the planet who was not aware of the pinching rule? Let me explain the drama I had this am.
We are having the normal morning after AWANA.
Kids are tired and moving as slow as snails.
Nathan is having his classic every morning screaming fit over chocolate milk.
I am trying to get David out the door.
The dog is stealing socks and I have no coffee.
We get to school on time just as the kids are going in the door.
David begins hyperventilating and sobbing.
"What in the world is wrong?" I ask.
"He says today is St Patricks day isn't it?!" David says
Heck I don't know - who cares?
Hysterical and totally overreacting he says "Just look it up on your phone!"
I do - sure enough it is today. So what!
Tears and sobs follow: "I am not wearing green! I am going to get pinched all day!"
"What?"
"If you don't wear green on St Patricks Day, the kids pinch you all day
We chose to be tardy instead of get pinched all day.
We turned the van around, went home and got some green for him to wear.
So, am I the only person who did not know about this pinching thing?
